March 11, 2013 - Service, Service and more Service

Dear Family,

Sorry if my letter seems quite frustrated, a rude man just crinkled my day a bit but that is ok.
I have had a great week.  I got to do lots of service, and we have helped 2 people decide on a date to be baptized. I hope that it will go the way I want it to, but they all have their agency.  I also had a few more members come out with us this week than weeks in the past.

So this week I was able to do service in a hereta or an orchard. Dad would have loved it.  Fruit trees as far as the eye could see.  I picked up a bunch of branches, about 2 tons of wood, and we piled it up on a tractor and drove it over to the huge wood pile and unloaded it. We repeated this 3 times.  Then we had a carnisada and it was great. I ate a ton.

We went to teach and had an ok day. Then we went to a boda and we ate a ton and helped people understand what we do in church. (The wedding was in the church.) We had a church tour and talked about baptism with an investigator and helped him decide on a baptismal date. It was a great evening.  Oh, and I made the food for the wedding that morning with a part-member family.

The next morning we went to help him get ready for church, but he didn't want to come cause he made some bad decisions later that night after setting up a baptism date and was too hung over to get out of bed.  I felt like dad catching his kid being stupid.... I was ticked, but I think I didn't show it.  We then went to church and nobody came that I had thought,  but then during sacrament we had an investigator come who told us the night before that he was not going to make it. --which makes me think; if I get them to tell me they can't come to church, I might have better attendance in church...I was glad to see him at church. I think I will have to go see him tonight and see how he feels about baptism.

Later Sunday night, we went to the Flynns for dinner. The members who have gone out of their way for the missionaries, and I know they will be blessed.  It was great CX Flynn just got his call to the Cleveland Ohio mission... English even thogh he is from Ecuador.  This week we also had a great correlation meeting, (with the English ward bishop and their ward mission leader)  and we were told to do more service. So we have been stacking up the projects. I will be painting a house next week and then insulating a house the week following.  Also, if I stay in the same place next transfer, I get to live up the hill. I'm excited because the house has a stove.  Sorry no pix this week. I'm going to send a card to Liza soon.

Love you guys! Remember that God loves us no matter what we do, did, or feel in the moment. He is our eternal best friend .
