Dear Family,
So this week was interesting. We went to the temple. I had the opportunity to sit next to the mission president through a session. It was a cool experience. I learned that the first commandment God gave Adam is don't get divorced. I have seen this week that sad effects of having sex before marriage. These people don't understand that popular morals and eternal laws are two different concepts. They have children out of wedlock, and then they come to us with questions that hurt to answer, "So God told me not to have a child, is my child a sin?" and other really awkward questions. This leads to us answering. We cannot lie. They feel bad and get defensive and call marriage a paper and not important. We explain the protection that comes from marriage and how it can bless them. Then they feel bad and want to break up with their boyfriends, try, fail. This leads the boyfriend to hate us and pulls up anti-Mormon stuff, or asks us not to come back, tells the girlfriend that she can't take his child to church, etc. Most of these boys are 16-18, so they are still young enough to use their child as a way to spite there loved ones.
This has been a great week. I had transfers. I get a new comp tomorrow, and I will miss elder Metcalf. He shows me so much. He is now my zl (zone leader). I love you.
