So being honest.... the baptism fell through but only temporarily. we just have to get his mom's approval--just a small signature... So I expect at least by the end of the month.. We found Reynaldo. He had moved out of his girlfriend's house so he could live the law of chastity, and he is working on getting divorced from his wife in Mexico. (Don't worry, it should go through this month, and he will get baptized.) He doesn't want to get baptized till he is divorced.. Also, my friend Tammy is working on finding a job that won't work her on Sunday so she can go to church and get baptized.. She is a bit scared because of the economy, but she put a job application in last week for a place where I think she has good chances.
We met a family of 5 (all baptismal age) who believe that the Book of Mormon is true and wants to get baptized, and all we have to do is just get them to church. It's a bit hard because that never happens. So we have been praying for rain, and the farmers and like stop it cause it has rained for the past two weeks. It's the will of God, not ours... just so happened that we prayed for it to happen. We were praying for rain on a Sunday, but it rained like all week but Sunday. We just need to try again. (Rain makes it hard to pick fruit- lots of people here pick fruit and then they come to church and get baptized) (Rain also causes the value of hay to drop, depending on how much rain and if the hay has been cut or not.) So the ward hates rain and the Spanish branch likes it...
Well we expect and do see miracles. The Lord has turned the leaf over and things are going like a humming motor here, and I love the work and my companion.. I even got a package today... I have got to love that.
Well the church is true, and I love my God. I will follow God where I feel Him. I am his disciple. I am not hooked to a church; I am hooked to God, and He is with this church. It is truly His church. I do not follow tradition; I follow revelation and a prophet. I love my God for the things He allows me to learn as I get to come closer to him.
Love,
Elder Pinegar
