April 29, 2013 - The Best Week to Date

Dear Family,

Well this past week was a rebound from the past. We taught so much and pushed really hard. We taught 21+ lessons and almost doubled our numbers from last week.

Last week we went bowling, and ... it was sick.  I guess the man who runs the bowling ally is an anti-Mormon, cause halfway through our first game--boom the lights go out, the black lights pop on and the disco balls light up and AC/DC starts blaring over the speakers. My zone leader Elder Metcalf  chuckled, and we looked at Elder Barham and he about lost it (lol). So I decided to mess with him. I told him he was the coolest zone leader ever, that all my other zone leaders would have never let his whole zone go bowling in a club with AC/DC going (lol). You should have seen his face. The young man was halfway in shock. I died.  He claimed to not be aware of the situation.

I got a blender later in the week, and I died from being too happy.  It was a great week.

The death of Elder Metcalf (he's going home this week). Maybe this is a mission tradition or maybe the Elders are just being a bit over dramatic!
This week we got in contact with a man named Jairo.  I taught him a bunch last transfer.  Anyways, we had one of the best lessons I have had on my mission. The Spirit was so good. I loved it.  I think he will be baptized if he can find time for church in his life, cause he really wants to change.  He is great.

I ate some corn.....
Our trio (Elder Pinegar, Elder Kennedy & Elder Paxton) eating Pelota (corn on the cob with mayonnaise and chili). There's a van that goes around like an ice cream truck selling these things and apparently they're pretty popular. The kids go crazy when they hear the music from the truck coming down the street. I don't know if I'm such a huge fan... The combination takes some getting used to; however, it was still an experience worth having :)  - Elder Paxton
I have been working on my manners I just didn't do to well this week. lol
Looks like Elder Pinegar likes Pelota :) April 2013 - Wenatchee
Well me and my comps have for this whole transfer, worked on personal goals to become the people we want to be when we die or get translated,(depending on when Christ comes again). Every night we record and report personal progress, and it helps us improve. I think this week has been the best. I have really tried to change and become a better person.  Yesterday, I fulfilled every one of my top goals 100 percent. Super happy!
This is Elder Kennedy, Nick's companion after a tasty pelota.

I know that through consistency we can change. Christ was and is the best example of that, and we do need to be consistent.  I love God for all he has done and will do for me.  I feel that as we help others feel loved, we too can feel the love of the Savior.

I get transfer calls next week. I'm scared and kinda excited. Trios have perks and negatives I think. I like them tho.

We just got a member referral named Norma, and she seems kinda golden. She agreed to a church tour, and I have a good feeling about her.

love you peace
