Dear Family & Friends,
| Elder Pinegar on top of Saddle Rock in Wenatchee, WA April 8, 2013 |
This has been a crazy week full of record success and dramatic failure and a feeling of trust in the Lord. This week we did service. I love doing service. It is probably my favorite activities in the field (except setting goals--love that the most). We have just had the best week ever. The numbers go as such: 8+ hours service scattered through the week, Monday was p day, Tuesday we went to Spokane, Thursday we moved. We had two ward meetings we went to, two sessions of church, and we taught priesthood, spoke in sacrament, and we did it all in Spanish. To top it off, we had 25 lessons this week. That's my personal best so far, and then we had 4 investigators in church and 13 of 25 lessons where a member was present. I have never seen numbers like this, much less with so little proselyting time. The work is picking up speed!! (as the mail slows down...lol)
So this week, the Hernandez family came to church. (We had the idea 3 weeks ago to have a 6 o'clock sacrament meeting. The stake president bought it, so we made it happen.) The Hernandez family came to church at 6 and then Elder Pinegar did a little dance because he was so thrilled. You see, he has never had 4 people in church in a single week of his mission, so he felt super happy with the success the Lord allowed him to see. (sorry for the third person).

Oh, we moved from the basement to a different member's home... it's great. They have a bench and a blender... my workouts have gotten a bit better you can say ;) I have been working with my comps to help them hit there personal goals and they are helping me. It's just going so well. My comp, Elder Kennedy, has lost 9 lbs in 3 weeks, and he is starting to look great. He and I get along really well. I love the guy. Elder Paxton helps us. He's our super concerned one. He is just a hard working little guy. Got to love him.

Last p-day we hiked Saddle Rock. Look it up--it's in Wenatchee. I got to chat with an elder who thought he might go home. He had just been dear johned super harshly.... After the hike and a little chat, we had decided that it was just Satan being a tool. We were hi fiving and yellin "ha ha nice try Satan you tool." screw you!! I won't go home. The church is true. I love that elder.

Tuesday we woke up at 4:30 and went to Spokane. It was a big day for us. I was really tired. The day was a blur.
Well the Gonzales fam, the one I wrote about last week, they were reading and praying about the BOM. Then they tented us on Wednesday and told us that they got an answer. Their old minister came over and antied them to the grave. They told us that they were going to go back to their old church, and now they won't even answer the door.... but hey, the Hernandez have never come to church before--then they did. God was just helping us have more time to see them.
Thursday we moved temporarily. I love the place, but it took a lot of time to move.

Friday we did the most lessons I have done in one day. We did 7 lessons in one day. Man we were cooking.
Saturday I was on exchanges with Elder Metcalf. He is going to come visit you, so I hope that you'r e ready. He comes home in 3 weeks. We had a blast. We did service for the Flynn family. We planted trees and moved a huge rock. (I have definitely have gotten stronger than I was before.)
I don't know if I like the day by day letter format. I was just trying it out. Let me know how you feel about it. Anyways, for my study plan, I have been memorizing the final words and testimonies of the prophets in the BOM. I need a little help though. I kinda want to see if you can find them too. I have up through Mosiah found and only Lehi memorized. Get back to me and see if you can find all of them. I have the list and I will finish it by next week. I will see if you can beat me to it.
Love you all. I really have been going so fast this week. I loved every second.
Well times out. Peace.
Elder Pinegar
