January 14, 2013 - I'm Finding the Thorns

Dear Family,

I have  had a interesting week. I found the thorn in my side too.  I found the man who is telling one of my families that the church is crap. I confronted him and rebuked him.  I asked the family that I was teaching about him after and they say he is always over at there house being quiet and creepy.  He had told the golden Josue not to get baptized, and I think that he is part of why church attendance seems to fluctuate there.

I talked to Josue and told about my run in where he, the little creepy man, had told me not to go back to Josue's house. Josue told me he was just a bulge. I don't know what that is.... but that he was full of crap and that Josue and his fam likes us, and the other guy was as afore mentioned, little and creepy.  So I was super happy and will continue to go to that home and help them grow  I hope that creepy man will bug off.

I have a new comp. His name is elder Metcalf.  Mom, go have lunch with his mom. He a great elder. I am so glad that I have one who is on top of his game and works hard. Tell his mom that he is very impressive, and I can't wait to serve more with her son. Heck pay for her meal for having such a great son. :)
Elder Metcalf, Elder Pinegar's new companion - Jan 2013

I have been living in the dungeon for 7 weeks now. It is a legend of the mission. I live in a hole that is cold and wet.  I have to shower in the dark and only have a microwave and a George Foreman to cook on, and the doors are too low, causing me to hit my head lots.  It's cold, and I have one sink in the laundry room and no forks to eat with.   I've been living there with 4 elders when it is meant to bed 2, so it is super cramped.  I found the other elders a house, so they are moving out.  It's good. I like it, because I will kinda have a little flame to hold up to Alex's starving in Peru for 2 years,  but I still plan to find a mansion to live in soon. :)

The Dungeon--as lovingly nicknamed by the missionaries.

This week has been great as in I think we taught 19 or 20 lessons this week. That is great for the area I am in.

Food I could use--
dehydrated honey. I have seen it. I know it's real.

I love you and I have seen prayers answered here this week like crazy. I prayed for a few things that most thought would never happen and have happened this week I know that God answers prayers.

Love Elder Pinegar
P.S.  I lost and found my camera again
