I just heard Jeffrey R. Holland speak on your favorite scripture, "Feed my Sheep." I never understood that scripture until the talk today. I always thought you were just trying to bug me. Now I get the message. You wanted me, ever since I was little, to love God.
I loved the talk. It is remarkable how Elder Holland shook the MTC and the missionaries here. With a depiction of Christ calling his apostles from apostasy. How the Lord was not angry, but kind to Peter, the man who would be converted by this talk with the resurrected Christ and our Savior.
When I got to the MTC, my branch president asked me why I was serving a mission. I was able to look him in the eye and say, "I'm here because I love God for the blessings he has given me. I love God, that's why." I want to thank you for being my dad and setting an example of gratitude to God for his love.
That's all I've got Dad---at least for you right now.
